Dilip Ratha’s TED Talk from TEDGlobal in 2014 is a good example of how to pace a presentation. Listen to the first 30 seconds. Ratha delivers 4 simple sentences and leaves sufficient gaps for his audience to process the information. He tells a story and the audience is hooked.

When you next deliver a presentation, or present information, think like Ratha. It’s not a race. Your job is to help your audience process, understand and relate to the information you’re giving them.
Slowing down also helps your brain and your mouth work as a team. You’ll be more effective, more confident and more importantly, understood.
